Caring for marble, simply
A short, honest guide to keeping natural stone surfaces beautiful for decades.

Natural stone rewards a little care. None of it is difficult.
Seal it
Marble is porous. A penetrating sealer, reapplied periodically, keeps spills on the surface long enough to wipe away.
Wipe spills early
Acids — wine, citrus, some cleaners — can etch a polished surface. Blot, don't scrub, and use a pH-neutral stone cleaner.
Honed hides more
For kitchens and high-traffic floors, a honed finish disguises etching better than a high polish — something to specify up front.
